This is a clip for the up and coming movie, Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon. For those of you who have never seen the series, they are about a group of robots, The Autobots, whose main goal is to protect and maintain human civilization on Earth, while attempting to evade the evil Decepticons (another group of robots).
Even though the technological advancement in these movies is far beyond our reach (at least anytime soon), what do you think the clip implies about technical advancement today? Do you even think that there is a possibility for humans to create this technology and what do you think the potential consequences are, if any, from having the ability to create technology such as this?
Because the technology displayed in the Transformers series is so advanced, I think that the clip implies we have a lot to look forward to. I think that it is trying to show us that this is the kind of technology that could potentially happen, that they think we are capable of. Personally, I do not know what to think about the likelihood of this technology occuring. While I think that anything can happen, a talking robot in the disguise of a car and transforming is a little far fetched. But I guess you never really know. If these types of robots did come to exist I definitly think there would be consequences. As seen in the movies, some of the robots are evil and want to take over Earth. Just as I do not know if these technological advancements are possible, I dont think the potential inventors of these robots would know what the possible outcomes of creating them are either.
I believe this clip suggests the inevitability that one day things like this could exist and roam on Earth. As I stated in an earlier blog, just there mere idea of people thinking about robots and this “new era of technology” implies to us, the viewers, that one day this could be possible, even though today it seems preposterous and quite frankly absurd. However, I do think it is possible for advancements like these to be made because we are advancing every day with new technology and ways of thinking, consequently I believe one would be foolish to think otherwise. Yet, I do have my reservations because with technology comes a new power and how people use that power will determine how life on this world would operate and that terrifies me.
I think that the clip implies that we will eventually be able to reach the technological advances that are presented in the graphics of movies that are presented today, we just need to find the link between the technology that we have today and what will eventually accomplish in the future. I think that a human beings mind and thought process is one of the most complicated things that the public has yet to uncover all of its mysteries and powers, therefore, I believe that the human mind is capable of producing anything that one sets their mind too. Now on one hand, it could be for harm or it could be something that could help us, but every piece of technology created always has a negative affect in the ending result.
First of all, I would just like to say how cool that preview looks. It really captures my attention because the music (or beeping) makes my heart race. Anyway, this clip implies that inventors may cross the line when designing technology. I do think that we will one day have the ability to create robots such as these, however I don't think that we ever will let them roam around. It is apparent that we have the capability to create new devices through advancement in technology. Like Amanda said, "with technology comes new power and how people use that power will determine how life on the world would operate". I agree with this statement because (you see it in many films) new technology is empowering and if technology like this existed, who knows what the human race would do.
I love Transformers, and am also expecting this movie. In the clip, it shows several violent and terror scenes to make consumers tense and concentrated. It also implies that the robotic technologies would be possible to be showed up in the future real life. However, this implication has its own hint which is about the negative impacts caused by this kind of technology, such as damage buildings, disturbing emotions, etc. In other words, this movie is kind of an imitation about the consequence of future robotic technologies.
I believe that this clip implies that we shouldn’t put a limit on the possibilities of technical advancements in today’s time or in the near future because there are a lot of advancements that will become realistic in time as we continue to make drastic advances in technology. As fast as the growth of technology is moving in our society, it is very possible for a robot/transformer to be created. Individuals are becoming smarter and smarter and thus more advanced technology is going to be possible. Creating such a technology could create some risk to humans because if a large robot is created and there is a minor default in its programming, who knows what it would be capable of doing.
This clip is showing that technology could one day reach a point that could cause harm to humans. Although it is out of reach for now, one day technology could reach the point of no return and cause destruction to people. The clip uses the music and some of the most graphic scenes to instill fear in the viewers because the dangers of technology have not yet hit many people. New technology is not all bad, but if put into the wrong hands, it has the potential to cause harm to many people. The preview only shows negative implications of technology. If society keeps on the rapid track of investigating new technologies, something like these robots could be created, but I do not think they will be as elaborate as the movie shows. Technology may be very advanced, but I do not think it will ever be able to have emotions like humans do.
I think that this clip is implying that this sort of technology is close and with in our reach but also that these sort of advancements are a potential danger. If technology goes too far it can be smarter and bigger than us and we won't be able to stop it. I definitely think this technology is a possibility but it is also posible for scientists to create something smarter than us. As the preview shows these robots are destroying everything and no one can stop them. We don't know what the future hold but if we are not careful all hell could break loose.
I think that this clip implies that if we keep trying to create technology with the most capability and the most intelligence, eventually it will transform into chaos.
But looking at the massively complex and sublime machines, there is no way I believe we can give technology life to that extent, and if we could, I don't believe that corporations and governments could simply allow it to grow into a potential global disaster.
Honestly though, I must add that I think the main focus of the creators of Transformers is to have fun and thrilling entertainment. Added-in humor outweighs any "horror" in the movies and most of it is just pure adrenaline. Transformers are also based off of action figures and they date all the way back to the 80's...when there were no cell phones or IPods and technology probably wasn't the biggest concern, as discoveries back then seemed big, new and fresh. Not a trivial update to help get us addicted. I think the makers of the movie are sticking to the source's roots.
I have never seen transformers myself, so the new upcoming one will possibly be my first one of the series. The clip implies that as technology highly developing today, there will eventually be a day when it can reach a level to make everything possible. I think the speed for development of technology will be more progressive and faster. But the same time we should be aware that if technology is too highly developed, it will cause many problems. Such as, maybe human beings will lose control of machines and cause safety problems for ourselves.
What this clip shows and implies is that technology is moving in such a high speed that eventually the day may come where we lose control over it. If that is the case it seems evident that there would dangerous outcomes and the human race could possibly be in great danger. The clip mainly focuses on scenes of destruction, chaos, and worry and is backed up be music that instills fear into the viewers.
I never see the series movie of transformer, but in my point of view, this clip suggests that it is possible for human being to reach the technological advance in the future, but we don’t know when we can reach that. New technology will benefit human being while may hurt people. The advance technology in the film is obviously harmful to human being especially when lose control. There will be one day that the technology will be improve any more, for people in long history is evolving all the time and their intelligence is increasing day after day. Even people can create such transformer in the movie that very similar to the real people. As a sequence, the technology will develop as fast and profoundly as possible, but there will be a limit that human being to control the technology.
I believe that one day the humans could possibly build these beings. The problem is I don't think it can be on Earth because of the possibility that we could lack the resources needed to build these machines, when we're finally technologically able to build these creatures. The problem with this kind of technology is that we are building something that could potentially destroy us as a civilization. Honestly, I think we should try to build one and see how it goes, but take every precautionary measure possible even if it means sacrificing the ability to truly test the being.
I do believe that we have some of this technology today with non man airplanes and drones that has firepower on it. I think that we will on day have the technology to have to have robots of this porpotion. I think that it might be also a burden or cause us harm if this technology does fall into the wrong hands. But in my life time we probably will not see anything to us size of technology. But i have to say that is would be kinda coll to see something like this.
I agree with Josh as well as the general consensus that this clip shows the possibility that this movie might someday become the reality for our world. A further thought towards Josh's comment is that there is so much that our government and others are working on in terms of defensive technology. However, I think and hope that these kinds of powerful devices are not going to fall in the wrong hands. Osama, for example, was found in a very low tech home.
I think the movie trailer implies the advanced and normal transportation may one day protect or destroy the city which the human build up. By using a intensive and rigoroso music, it builds up a stained atmosphere. Also, the clip especially present the battling scene to catch the audiences’ interest and attention. It is possible that one day humans make an excuse as protecting the earth to create this kind of high technological robot which may destroy everything in the earth in the end. Human always do not know how to keep the balance between good and bad.
The clips implies that if we go on towards the advancement of technology without having a thought of the consequences then there will be a time when the same technology would be divided into two groups one to save us and another to destroy which ofcourse is no different from todays scenario. It is clearly known that if we think we can do it, we will do it. To think of such a technology is much more difficult than to produce it. So i don't think that after putting so much of imagination to produce this on computer and seeing what it can do anyone would stop there. I believe many secrete organizations would already have started to build machines like this. The consequences seriously depend on the mind behind the origin of the technology, if he knows to use it and uses it for good everyone is safe but if he wants the opposite not even he himself is safe.
I have never seen transform. However in this clip the designer used special technology for the many places in the movie and they used the instinct that we fear of disaster to make the poster vivid and more attractive. The background is a very important introduction for the movie.I found it is so vivid that I started to imagine how terrified people would be when facing the catastrophe and I seemed to hear their scream from everywhere of the city. The main color of this clip is grey, blue and black. It gives us a sense of cold and gloom and let people know this film is about disaster. And it makes a contradiction with the color of the main tramsformer,which represents the hope.
