Above is a clip from the movie WALL-E, which is an animated movie based in the future. In the film robots are given human like characteristics, such as emotions and voices. Additionally, the humans in the film no longer walk or dress themselves, robots perform these tasks for them.

Do you feel that in our human race’s future these technological advances are possible? Would these advances be safe for humans? Finally, do you believe there will be a day when technology will reach a limit and will not be able to develop any further?

I believe that there will be a day when technology will not be able to advance any further. (This day will be far...FAR. in the future). I believe this because I think that there is so much that humans are able to control. However, I do believe that the technological advances shown in this clip are possible. The thought that robots can have a mind of their own is not far fetched. If anyone has ever seen the movie IRobot, this clip somewhat reminds me of this. The thing that I question about these type of advances is that, can humans program robots to feel emotions? I don't think these advances are necessarily detrimental to humans, however this would severely change the aesthetic of the human race.

I think that eventually we will be able to create technology, such as the robots in the video because everything in our society progressively becomes more and more advanced. Although, I do not see any of this happening in the near future. I feel that initially having robots would be very efficient because they would be programmed to make less mistakes than a human, but there are always consequences. I think that maybe one day technology will reach its limit, but it is hard to say when that will happen. Companies are coming out with something new everyday just to compete with what it already out there and satisfy consumers. So I think that for now we are safe with the technology that we have.

For me personally, i think there will be a day when technology can reach that level to make everything possible. Because as technology high developing today, it will be more progressive and finally reach that point.but we should be aware that if robots have emotions and can think by themselves as human beings, they will cause many problems to make us not safe.also, i think it will be one day that technology reach its limit, but i dont know when. Until then, people will enjoy their high tech, high speed, and cozy lives.

I think we could reach a limit on creation. I also think there is a slight potential that everything can be run by technology (which would not be safe) but not to the point where the technology in robotics has authority over human race. Many headlines on MSN.com give the latest scoop on the newest robots built, the last feature detailed about a small PC-media robot named REETI actually having emotions. However, the use of robots has always been kept private and rare. Robotics and machinery have indeed revolutionized the industrial field (and yet we still have human workers), put in some help in business but I don't think it could move residential or touch political/civic.

I believe the idea that they are just thinking about it and implicating it into a movie suggests that research like this is happening and could be one day incorporated into our lifestyle. I don’t think any advances in technology in terms of robots would exceed to the point that they are dangerous to humans because after all most robots made are supposed to help people, not hurt them. Also, I don’t think there will be a time were we “reach our limit” in technology because every time we do make something we want to make it better and with those adjustments come new and better ideas.

People have thought about these kind of ideas for a really long time, and the make it become "real" in many concept movies and products. I do think these advanced technologies would be put forward by human beings in the future, because people have already make progress. In terms of the devastation appearing in this video, it seems like these kind of technologies are very very dangerous to human beings if they lose control. What's more, I do not think that here will be a day when technology will reach a limit and will not be able to develop any further. Due to the unbridled imagination of scientists, there will always be another generation for newest technologies.

It is possible for human race to reach the technological advance in the future, but it is very hard to determine when. New technology will benefit human being; on the other hand will hurt people. The advance technology in the film is obviously harmful to human being especially when lose control. There won’t be one day that the technology will be improve any more, for people in long history is evolving all the time and their intelligence is increasing day after day. Even people can create the robot that very similar to the real people. In my point of view, the technology will develop as fast and profoundly as possible, but there will be a limit that human being to control the technology.

I believe that some of there advances are already out there. We have robots now thta make cars for us and clean up after us. I think that it is just a matter of time till we have full interactive robots that do everything for us. But there might come a day like this movie clip for walle that robots could take over everything and we as humans right become second class citizens. I think that we need to be careful in creating all this new technology we need to make sure that we can handle what we create. I dont think that we can reach the limit of technology. I think that before that happens robots will over take us.

There are many films about robots. It seems that since robots come to our view, they have become a spot of the future. I do not think robot need to do everything for human, because we have our hands, if we do not use it, our brain may decelerate. Admittedly, technology can benefit human, but if it is over the extent, it may leave a bad effects on human's life. I like this film, but i don't think our future will just like that.

These technologies are very much going to be in our future. Already we have so many robots that can do a lot of stuff even now. It's not technology, it's what you do with it. It means that technological advances are not dangerous it is the dangerous minds using them, that we have to be afraid of. I think expecting an end in technological advances is like expecting the human race.

I believe that as this world progresses, this world will continue to advance in technology. I feel that we are headed towards technology that we can make possible in movies shown today because that is what gives our world the ambition to strive towards. I feel that new technology no matter what it is can be made dangerous to our society, and as our thinking continues to expand on technology that can help better our world, our thinking will continue to expand on technology that can hurt us. I feel that technology is not limitless because everyone has a different mindset to where anyone can think of something new! There are always new things to be built and new things to be seen. With different perspectives, new technological advances are limitless.

I think that robots and this sort of advancing technology is becoming a more popular topic in the media and news. I think that we are very much heading towards technology like this and that we will be seeing robots very soon. I do think that one day this technology will become too advance and will be a danger to us as humans. It just keeps advancing and who knows, one day we may create something smarter than us. I do think that eventually there has to be an endpoint to technological advancements. It may not be in our lifetime but eventually I think that point will be reached.

I definitely believe these technologies are possible or would be accessible in the future. Robotic technologies are based on the goal of helping human beings, but the threats hide behind these benefits on the surface. When people try to improve current technology, they usually become extremely greedy, which means they want their accomplishments can change the entire world by adding secretly some forbidden parts. For example, cloning technology, in some movies, the producers imply these existing cloning technologies have already waver the safty of world. Moreover, technology continues to be concerned and improved. As more and more people rely on techonology, scientists have to think of better ways to make improvements and inventions, so personally I do not think there will be a limit in the future. Although it exists theoretically, it will be in the far far future which will nobody sees.
